Meet Princess Sapphire, a Diné model, actor, student, community leader and pageant princess who will be making her way to Denver to walk on the NFITC runway.
-I am Diné from Albuquerque, New Mexico. I’m a daughter, a sister, a student, a scholar, a model, an actor, a community leader, a cheerleader, and a pageant princess.
-I’ve become a positive role model for my community, my peers and my siblings.
-I’m currently taking pre-med courses at the University of New Mexico all while completing my high school curriculum.
-My future goals are to attend medical school and become a pediatric doctor.
-I began my modeling career at the age of 14 years and quickly gained professional status within a year. I enjoy photoshoots, print ads, catalog, tearoom, runway and freeze modeling. I’ve modeled in various fashion weeks from Santa Fe Indian Market, Albuquerque Fashion Week, Santa Fe Fashion Week, Black Hills Fashion Show in South Dakota, Navajo Nation Fashion Expos, Denver March Fashion Events, New Mexico Fashion Week, as well as the prestigious, New York Fashion Week. In my three-year career span I’ve modeled for various National and International designers.
-I enjoy modeling as a way to spread positivity, promote community wellbeing and bring awareness to my Native American roots. Along the way, I’ve met some amazing designers, beautiful people, and wonderful production, all while building my resumé. I always appreciate the support and encouragement I get from our talented, indigenous designers and artists.
